After three hard years of the pandemic, I was SO unhealthy, depressed, and exhausted.  It’s embarrassing to express how unhealthy I had become.  My mother was nagging me to attend one of the Thriven presentations.  To be honest, I didn’t want to go because I knew that if I did the program it was going to take A LOT of work and I wasn’t sure if I was ready.  However, I knew something needed to change.

The truth is, in the beginning, I wasn’t positive about the program.  I was way too overwhelmed by everything.  Thankfully I have an amazing support system and a mother who was willing to do my shopping and meal prepping.  This allowed me to stay on the program when I didn’t have the energy to do any of the work and prevented me from resorting to past unhealthy choices.  I remember my first group coaching calls.  I had expressed how overwhelmed I was, and a gentleman told me he was where I was, and that he promised me that if I gave it a few weeks I would have more energy and it would get easier.  When I got the results back from my first round of blood work, it was an embarrassing, yet important, dose of reality.  Without those results I could have dismissed just how unhealthy I truly was.  I wanted to quit, but I trusted Dr. Anderson and my health coach, Jackie and tried to implement as much of the program as possible.  After a month or so, I started feeling so much better!  I was starting to have more energy and desire to do things, such as cooking.  This gave me the strength to keep following the program.

I still have a long way to go but have made so much progress in the past 7 months, including losing 52 lbs.  I have learned that I CAN make healthy choices even when stressed, when things get busy, or even when making healthy choices seems impossible (such as during the holidays or when traveling).

I’ve learned that although it’s difficult, it’s worth it.

I’m so happy that I listened to my mother and went to that Thriven presentation.  I was met with kindness and an instant feeling of support from the whole Thriven family!  I am proud of what I’ve accomplished in just a short time, and I know that I couldn’t have done it without the support of my family, Dr. Anderson, Jackie, and Thriven.
